MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- Three Mount Pleasant men were each sentenced to more than a decade in prison for their part in a 2010 armed robbery at a Cricket cellphone store.

According to Mount Pleasant police, Jarret Eric Graddick, 26, Keenan Jamal Coakley, 22, and Kevin Lamar Smalls, 27, were sentenced on Friday.

Graddick was sentenced to 20 years; Coakley was sentenced to 16 years; and Smalls was convicted to a 15-year suspended sentence with five years of probation.

Because of witness accounts of the robbery, police were able to quickly apprehend the three men.

The robbery happened at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 15, 2010 after Smalls dropped two men off near a wooded area close to the shopping center, according to a release from the solicitor's office.

According to the release, the store's manager and an employee saw two men wearing dark clothing and masks rush toward the store's back entrance.

The employees ran to a nearby restaurant and yelled for someone to call the police, the release states.

A woman unloading her groceries nearby heard the yells and was able to write down a license plate number for a suspicious looking vehicle, the release states.

According to the release, the same vehicle was later seen by a resident on Sam Edwards Road picking up two robbers, one of which was carrying something "tucked like a football" and threw the empty cash register into the wooded area of a neighborhood.

Mount Pleasant police officers saw the car on Highway 17 near Highway 41 and conducted a high-risk traffic stop, the release states.

Officers ordered the driver out of the car without incident and officers saw Coakley try to jump in the front seat, the release states.

According to the report, officers found a pile of cash and a loaded .40 caliber Glock handgun in the back seat of the car.

Graddick was convicted of criminal conspiracy in 2006 and is charged with five counts of armed robbery and two counts of kidnapping in connection with the armed robbery of the Golden Bowl Chinese Restaurant and Piggly Wiggly in Mount Pleasant.

Coakley has pending two counts of armed robbery in connection with the armed robbery of the Golden Bowl Chinese Restaurant, as well as grand larceny and possession with intent to distribute.

Coakley and Graddick were convicted of armed robbery, and Smalls later pled to accessory after the fact shortly after Coakley and Graddick were sentenced.
