3 teen girls arrested for shoplifting, police say

WEST ASHLEY, S.C. (WCIV) -- Three teen girls were arrested Sunday after police say they stole nearly $500 in Ralph Lauren merchandise from the Belk store at Citadel Mall.

According to police, officers were called by store personnel around 5 p.m. because the three suspects had been detained with the unpurchased items in their handbags.

Police identified two of the teens as 17-year-old Harrison Novak and 18-year-old Claudia Siebert. The third girl is a juvenile police said, and was released to the custody of her parents.

According to police, the girls admitted to shoplifting and surveillance video shows the attempted thefts.

Siebert and Novak were taken into custody by police and taken to the Al Cannon Detention Center.

The two girls are supposed to appear in court on Jan. 3, police said.
