ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WCIV) -- Quality Model, a plastic injection modeling company based in Ontario, announces
the expansion of its facility in Orangeburg County. With a $3 million investment, the company
expects to generate 26 new jobs for the area.
"Since our move into South
Carolina in 2005, our Orangeburg facility has become a key business unit within
the Quality Models' group," said Bill Szekesy, president of Quality Model South
Carolina. "The expansion of the facility is needed to support our Southeastern
U.S. customer base. We thank both Orangeburg County and the state of South
Carolina for its continued support of our efforts."
According to the company, it has generated $13 million and created 75 jobs since it opened in 2005.
"We are thrilled another
international company is expanding in our state," said Gov. Nikki Haley. "We
applaud Quality Model for continuing to grow their business in Orangeburg
County, investing $3 million and creating 26 new jobs."
South Carolina has recruited more than $1.7 billion in the plastics, rubber and
chemicals industries, creating more than 3,800 jobs and comprising nearly four
percent of the state's total economic output," said Secretary of Commerce Bobby
Hitt. "Today's announcement by Quality Model demonstrates that South Carolina is
just right for businesses in this industry to further grow and prosper."

with Quality Models expanding in South Carolina and the Orangeburg County/City
Industrial Park," said Johnnie Wright, Sr., Orangeburg County Council chairman.
"Orangeburg County is continuing to create employment for its citizens. It is a
great day in Orangeburg County."
