GREER, S.C. (AP) -- No one was hurt when the pilot of a small plane did a belly landing at Greenville Spartanburg International Airport near Greer.
An airport spokeswoman said Thursday that the pilot of the Piper Aero did not realize that his landing gear had not deployed properly.
Spokeswoman Rosylin Weston says the landing shortly after 3 p.m. closed the runway for a time.
There was one passenger on the plane. The names were not released.
Weston says the plane had come from Tri-Cities Regional Airport in Tennessee and Greenville was its final destination.
She says the runway was not damaged.
