Man accused of shooting at SC Muslim community

Posted: Updated:

YORK, S.C. (AP) -- Authorities say a man fired a gun into a community of Muslim families in York County.

The Herald of Rock Hill reports that deputies went to Islamville at around 8 p.m. Dec. 21 after residents reported hearing gunshots and racial slurs from a neighbor.

Deputies saw Joshua Allen Casey walking out of a wooded area that separates his home from the community.

Casey was arrested and charged with public disorderly conduct and illegally discharging a firearm. He says he is being wrongfully accused and didn't fire any shots.
