SC teen electrocuted by downed power line

Posted: Updated:

ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a teenage girl was electrocuted by a fallen power line.

Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore says crews were responding to a call about a grass fire on Thursday night in the Slabtown community when they found 16-year-old Emily Rose Donald.

Shore says Donald was pronounced dead at the scene after coming into contact with the line. An autopsy was scheduled for Friday.

Authorities are still investigating what happened. It wasn't known if the high winds that blew into the area on Thursday night could have caused the power line to fall.
