CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Owners of small businesses in Charleston are getting an update on the city's Digital Corridor.

Corridor director Ernest Andrade is the scheduled speaker Thursday at the Small Business Lunch at Halls, which monthly features a speaker discussing business, civic affairs or politics in the Charleston area.

The corridor helps knowledge and computer businesses with training and mentoring, as well as finding employees and providing working space in two business incubators.

During the past dozen years, it has helped launch about 100 technology companies.

This month, Silicon Harbor Ventures announced it is operating a $5 million venture capital fund in conjunction with the corridor. The fund is managed by investors who have experience in technology businesses.
