CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A pedestrian who was struck by a car on the Crosstown Monday night has died.

The coroner has identified the victim as 21-year-old Lindsey Taylor Ranz of Summerville. Ranz succumbed to her wounds at MUSC on Tuesday.

College of Charleston officials said Ranz was a junior majoring in International Business.

A westbound lane at the Crosstown and Coming Street was closed after the accident Monday night, said officials with the Charleston Police Department.

According to the collision report, Ranz tried to cross Septima Clark Parkway (US 17) at Coming around 6:30 p.m. and walked into the path of a northbound 2004 Nissan.

Police said the 26-year-old driver will not be charged because Ranz contributed to the accident.
