CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Charleston police are investigating a second armed robbery in just 24 hours.

Officers were called to the Kangaroo Express on Main Road in Johns Island just after 10:30 Monday night.

According to the police report, an employee told officers she was in the back of the store by the beer coolers when a person wearing a black "three-hole ski mask" came in and held up a pistol.

The clerk said the man "racked the pistol" and demanded money from the store's safe. The clerk couldn't get in to the safe so the suspect took $156 from the register instead along with two packs of Newport cigarettes.

The suspect is described as a black man, approximately 5'5" tall, wearing a forest green industrial jumpsuit, black ski mask and black gloves. He reportedly said "Yeah, yeah, yeah" a lot during the incident.

The first armed robbery was at the Circle K in West Ashley. No arrests have been made in either case.

If anyone has any information on these crimes, they are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
