CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A man accused of attacking his ex-wife in her home back in November 2010 has been found guilty and sentenced to 20 years in prison.

According to officials with the solicitor's office, Michael Anthony Glover was found guilty of burglary in the first degree, criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, and kidnapping.

According to the report, Glover broke into the victim's home while she was out with a friend, disabled her phone and "laid in wait" until she came home.

Prosecutors said Glover hit her in the head, tied her to their children's bunk bed and demanded to know where she had been. Glover also reportedly convinced her to drop a stalking charge she had placed against him before a noise startled him and he fled the home.

Investigators said that when they arrived on the scene, Glover's ex-wife was bleeding heavily from the face and had visible bruising on her face, neck and wrists.

Glover was apprehended the next day and police said he had a pair of the victim's underwear in his possession.

Assistant Solicitor Jessica Baldwin, said the credibility of the victim convinced the jury of Glover's guilt.

"She took a stand and let everybody know that she was not going to allow this person torment her anymore," she said.

Glover must serve 85 percent of his 20 year sentence before he is eligible for parole.
