3 days of events mark King day in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - Three days of events including workshops, community service, worship and a parade mark Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday in the Myrtle Beach area.

Events organized by the Carolina African American Heritage Foundation include a community civil rights service Sunday at Mount Olive AME Church. A community awards breakfast and the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade are scheduled for Monday.

Saturday was a day of community service, including a workshop on helping minority-owned businesses and those run by women learn more about bidding and securing work contracts. Another focused on helping small businesses get access to capital
