CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Emergency units responded to 353 King Street following a report of a suspicious package late Thursday. The bomb squad, hazmat teams, ems and police blocked off the area for hours.

In the end, all they found was an umbrella.

A spokesperson for the Charleston Police Department says a woman arrived home to find a package she didn't order. When she started to open the package, she noticed an odd smell and notified a nearby police officer.

The officer called in reinforcements. Officials say the package was first tested for chemicals. The tests came back negative.

The bomb squad then took over. Officials gave the all clear around 3:15 a.m. That was nearly four hours after the ordeal began.

Officials say there were no evacuations.
