Police searching for men who claim they have Heather Elvis

Posted: Updated:

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WCIV/WPDE) -- The father of a missing 20-year-old girl said he was threatened Tuesday by men who said they were coming after his other daughter.

According to a police report, the father was walking out of his business when two men in a Jeep yelled, "We already have Heather, Morgan is next."

Morgan is the name of Heather Elvis' sister.

The Jeep is described as a mid-2000 model Wrangler that is dark in color and has blacked-out rims. Police said the vehicle is lifted and has a black rag top.

"Obviously we're putting this out to the public. We want to find out who these people are. We want the public's help in helping us to find this black jeep. There's obviously only so many black jeeps in Horry County so in time we will find it," said David Knipes with the Myrtle Beach Police Department. "So whoever is involved in this might as well just go ahead and contact the police, explain their side of the story and what happened because eventually, we will locate the jeep."

Heather Elvis was last heard from on Dec. 18 at about 3 a.m. after she went on a date, according to her family.

Two weeks ago, police arrested and charged two men in connection with interfering with the investigation after they posted misleading information on a social media site regarding her disappearance.

Officials said it led to officer tracking down false leads.

If you have any information about Elvis' disappearance, you are asked to call the Myrtle Beach Police Department at (843) 918-1382.
