Water boil advisory lifted for parts of Dorchester County

Posted: Updated:

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) -- A water boil advisory has been lifted for customers who live in the area of Windsor Hill Plantation as crews repair a water main break.

Officials with the Dorchester County Water and Sewer Department said crews repaired the break at the intersection of Windsor Hill Boulevard and Beckton Street.

The advisory affected more than 700 customers who live in Indigo Palms, The Colony, Governors Estate, Moultrie Place and portions of Indigo Ridge, Ricefield Plantation and Pepperidge subdivisions.

The state's Department of Health and Environmental Control was notified.

While the advisory was in place, officials said customers should boil the water vigorously for at least one minute before drinking it or cooking with it. Any ice made from water that is not boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.
