Chef Kim's Recipe: Chocolate Pots De Crème

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- Try this simple and delicious sweet dish for your love on Valentine's Day.

2 Cups Heavy Cream

1 Cup Sugar

2 teaspoons Vanilla

6 Yolks

6 ounces Unsweet Chocolate –chopped fine


Bring the cream, sugar & vanilla to a boil. Whisk eggs and temper into the hot cream. Whisk continually for about 15 seconds or until the mixture has slightly thickened. Strain into a bowl and add the chocolate Stir to melt & incorporate the chocolate. Divide into serving dishes/ramekins. Chill to set about 2 hours.

Serve with a dollop of cream, fresh fruits.


** Adding additional flavors to build the flavor profiles are a great way to add some love.  Try adding 1 ounce of your favorite to the cream before you add the chocolate.

Grand Marnier, Hazelnut, Almond, Rum, Bourbon, Mint, Cinnamon (1tsp)
