SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- A Summerville man was found dead in his backyard and could be the eighth person in the state to die as a result of last week's ice storm.

According to Dorchester County Coroner Chris Nisbet, 43-year-old Jason Couch died Wednesday while cleaning up storm debris at his home behind Legend Oaks Golf Course in Summerville.

Nisbet said autopsy results showed his cause of death to be a Brain Injury due to Blunt Force Trauma to his Head. Couch died at the scene.

Nisbet thinks the ice storm loosened the branch and high winds in the area Wednesday broke it off the tree.

The tree limb was found next to the victim but his wife was out with their kids so no one witnessed the actual accident.
