Jones County, MS -

Authorities in Mississippi say the second floor of an activity center at Freedom Baptist Church in Myrick collapsed during an evening youth service, sending dozens tumbling down and injuring at least 15 people.

Jones County Sheriff Alex Hodge said that young people were attending a service Wednesday night at the church when the second floor gave way, a drop of about 12 feet.

According to the South Central Regional Medical Center, at least 15 people were treated for minor injuries and released.

A 16-year-old girl was taken to a Hattiesburg hospital with a possible head injury.  Her condition is unknown.  Authorities say none of the injuries were life-threatening.

The cause of the collapse is not known at this time.
