Jill Dahan's healthy chocolate chip cookies

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- Try this simple recipe for a healthy alternative to chocolate chip cookies from Jill Dahan.

Yummy "Healthy" Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 cup (4oz) almond flour*

1/4 cup coconut sugar

1/2 tsp baking powder (non-aluminum)

2 tbsp (2oz) butter or ghee

1 tsp molasses organic unsulphured

1 tsp vanilla bean paste

1 large egg

2 oz dark chocolate chips

 

Mix butter or ghee with molasses, vanilla and egg.  Mix in almond flour, sugar, baking powder and chips. Drop by tablespoonful onto baking parchment paper and bake at 350 degrees for 7 minutes until lightly browned.  Cool onpaper and enjoy.  *To make your own almond flour, simply grind about 3/4 cup of whole blanched almonds in a blender to  make 1 cup almond flour.
