Four CCSD school nurses win Palmetto Gold Award

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Four Charleston County School District nurses were named Palmetto Gold Award winners by the South Carolina Nurses Foundation.

The award was presented to 100 nurses across the state for excellence in nursing practice and a commitment to the nursing profession.

This year's winners are Mary Bebensee of Whiteside Elementary School, Cheryl Dunn of North Charleston Elementary School, Faith Hostettler of Harborview Elementary School and Sharon Moser of West Ashley High School.

The selection process evaluates nurses who promote and advance the profession in a positive way in the practice setting or in the community, display a commitment to patients, families and colleagues, demonstrate leadership and as and assist others in growth and development, and contribute to overall outcomes in the practice area/setting.

The award winners will be honored at the Palmetto Gold Gala on April 12 at the Columbia Convention Center.
