GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCIV) – A Goose Creek rental home was destroyed by fire Friday evening.

According to Goose Creek Rural Fire Chief Michael Haines, three Goose Creek Rural Fire units and one Goose Creek Fire unit battled the blaze on Gator Drive.

They arrived shortly after 5 p.m. and found heavy smoke coming from the home, Haines said. By 6:30 p.m., crews had finished spraying down the hot spots.

One adult and three children where were living in the home were displaced. The owner of the home was called too, Haines said.

The Red Cross is helping the family. No one was injured, he said.

Officials have not yet said how the fire started.
