NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) – A North Charleston man was arrested after family members accused him of sexually assaulting at least two young girls.

According to a North Charleston police report, 54-year-old Archie Thomas Adair was accused by family members of having inappropriate sexual contact with two juvenile girls repeatedly over the last six weeks.

The report states that the parents of the girls suspected something after hearing Adair make lewd comments about the girls. After asking the girls about Adair, both provided details of their sex assaults.

On March 2, police met up with Adair at a theme park in North Charleston where he was chaperoning three other girls. When police told him why they were looking for him, he hung his head, the report reads.

The three girls with Adair were returned to their parents and Adair was taken to City Hall to meet with detectives. The family of the girls also met with detectives, the report reads.

Adair was charged with second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor. His bond was set at $25,000.

He is being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center.
