CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Charleston Police were called to Ashley Hall School Thursday for reports of a strange man harassing students a couple of blocks from the school.

According to a police report, a man was intimidating the school children in the area of Rutledge Ave. and Cannon St. around 7 a.m.

The suspect is described as a black male, around 50 years old with a "stubbly mustache." He was wearing a black or blue jacket, beanie style hat, dark pants and loafer style shoes.

One of the students told police the man had walked up to her and a group of kids walking to school from an off-campus parking lot. She said the man "whispered sexually suggestive remarks" at her. Another student said the man "reached out towards her" but didn't touch her.

Police have arrested 50-year-old Quinton Cornell Richardson. He is charged with assault and battery in the second degree and felony stalking.

If anyone knows anything about this or any other crime, they are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
