COOSA COUNTY, Ala. -- An auto tech teacher at Coosa County Science and Technology was arrested Tuesday for allegedly having sex with a student, according to the sheriff's office website.

Jimmy Reed Nickolson III, 38, of Goodwater, was arrested and charged with one count of a school employee engaging in sex with a student. He was booked into the county jail at 4:52 p.m. on a $50,000 bond.

Nickolson was released from jail shortly after 9 a.m. Wednesday after posting a $50,000 property bond. Details surrounding the charge against him weren't immediately made available.

According to his bio on the school website, Nickolson has spent the last six years of his 13-year career as an automotive instructor for the county school system. He also says he's married and has three children.

"It is my mission to give my students a foundational knowledge of automobiles that they may take with them into the world of work," Nickolson's bio reads at the end.
