An American Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing Friday morning after reportedly hitting a bird.

Airport officials were notified of the emergency landing after 10:30 a.m. It was bound for Dallas/Fort Worth and returned to Tulsa International Airport around 11 a.m.

A spokesperson for American Airlines told KTUL that the flight was forced to make an emergency landing to inspect the aircraft for a "possible bird strike."
