Posted: Updated:

A jury found Marquitta Littlebear guilty Friday of second degree murder after a fatal wreck that left a Tulsa teacher dead. She was recommended to take on 40 years in prison.

She was also convicted of leaving the scene of that wreck, driving under the influence of alcohol, child endangerment and driving with a suspended license.

Officers allege that Littlebear was driving the vehicle that struck and killed Susan Mamary near 51st and Yale. Mamary was an instructor at Marquette Catholic School.

Previous reports from KTUL state that Mamary was making a turn at the intersection when Littlebear reportedly struck her vehicle. Police stated that Littlebear left the scene shortly after.

At the time of the fatal wreck Littlebear was allegedly driving without a license. Her children were also in the car.

Littlebear will be formally sentenced April 21.
