2 charged with obstruction in fatal Walterboro shooting

WAWLTERBORO, S.C. (WCIV) -- One person is dead and at least one other person has been wounded in a shooting Friday evening in Walterboro. 

The Colleton County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 22-year-old Daquawn Lawton.

Officials on Monday said two men, identified as Edward and Javon Russell, were arrested and charged with obstruction of justice in the case. There have been no arrests of a suspected shooter.

According to officials, the shooting happened on Godwin Street around 6 p.m. The victim reportedly died at the scene. 

A second person who was shot in the face was taken to Colleton Medical Center and then flown to Medical University Hospital in Charleston.

The house is also business, a car repair shop. Officers say several people were standing around when the shooting happened.

Officers say they are still working leads.
