Posted: Updated:

Page and Ronda Cole, owners of Visiting Angels of Green Country, are journeying on the historic Route 66 from Tulsa to El Reno to honor those with Alzheimer's disease and their families.

Their trip began this morning at the historic Route 66 bridge in Tulsa. Page and Ronda's trip also intends to raise money and awareness for those with Alzheimer's and is scheduled to conclude March 21 in El Reno.

The Cole's have participated in Walk to Remember over the years but wanted to do something even bigger this year.

"We want the families of those who have Alzheimer's and those who are suffering to feel like they have some support," Ronda Cole said.

Throughout their journey, Page and Ronda plan to walk, bike, skate and ride a scooter on Route 66.

The Visiting Angels is a home health company cares for those with Alzheimer's. Page Cole said the cause is especially meaningful to him because his grandmother died of Alzheimer's disease.
