GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WCIV) – Georgetown police have arrested a man wanted in connection to a weekend shooting that wounded one man.

According to police, 21-year-old Kwamane Edward Smith was arrested at a motel in Myrtle Beach Wednesday afternoon and taken back to Georgetown for holding.

Police say the shooting happened at a home on Park Street shortly after midnight Sunday. The man was hit in the lower stomach and taken to Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

Police said Sunday afternoon that the 39-year-old victim went through surgery Sunday morning and is currently in stable condition.

Police were looking for Smith, of Pawley's Island. He has been charged with attempted murder and kidnapping, police said. The shooting stemmed from drug-related activity, according to investigators.

Smith was considered armed and dangerous. Police said they expect to make more arrests in the case.
