COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Chefs from around South Carolina are offering tastes of their cooking on the University of South Carolina's historic Horseshoe to support scholarships.

The annual event is hosted Monday by a tourism and festival management class in the School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management. It is supporting scholarships through the Jules Pernell Fund to assist students in financial need. Pernell was a respected professor and chef who taught culinary courses at the school for 22 years.

USC mascot Cocky is attending the event, which is child-friendly and runs from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Tickets are $25 for general admission, $10 for students and senior and $35 for a family and may be purchased at the event.
