Wanted: Two suspects in connection with stolen car

GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office is searching for two black men wanted in connection with a stolen car in the Sampit Community of Georgetown County.

The stolen car is a 2000 White BMW 740iL with license plate JLW-202.

Deputies responded to the call around 1:30 p.m. on March 20. According to the victim, the men drove up next to him and asked for water for their overheating 1990's model Honda. The victim got out of his car to show the men a water source. Both men got out of their car, one was holding what appeared to be a handgun. As the victim ran to safety, one of the suspects stole his car, police said.

Both vehicles fled south on Powell Road toward Highway 17 South.

One of the suspects is described as approximately 6-feet, 2-inches tall with a stocky build and dreads.

Anyone who can identify the suspects or has any information regarding the vehicle theft is
urged to call the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office at (843) 546-5101.
