Orangeburg man threatens to shoot sheriff, drive tank through office

Posted: Updated:

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WCIV) – An Orangeburg businessman was arrested this week for making threats against the sheriff and his chief of staff.

According to Orangeburg County deputies, Randall Dale Gregory on Wednesday told officers that he was "going to drive a tank up the sheriff's office and blow it up." The exchange came after deputies responded to Gregory's auto shop for a reported battery and tire theft.

Gregory also said the "OCSO is going to catch hell from him," according to a report.

The report states that Gregory also said he was going to Sheriff Leroy Ravenell's home to steal his things. He also threatened to shoot the sheriff if he showed up on Gregory's property.

Gregory was arrested and went through bond court Saturday morning.
