CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The bridge run won't just be closing down streets as runners make their way across the Cooper River.

The Coast Guard is establishing a security zone on the waters of the Cooper River and Town Creek Reaches in Charleston Harbor as well.

The waters in the security zone will be closed to boaters on Saturday, April 5, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

The security zone includes an area 200 yards north of the Ravenel Bridge, including Town Creek, and extends south to a line between the Charleston Maritime Center and the USS Yorktown.

"People and vessels will be prohibited from entering, transiting through, anchoring in, or remaining within the security zone unless authorized by the Coast Guard Captain of the Port - Charleston or his designated on-scene representative," a statement from the USCG read.

The security zone will be enforced by federal, state and local agencies.
