Man wanted in April 2 murder surrenders to police

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The man wanted in connection to a North Charleston murder turned himself over to police Monday night. 

According to North Charleston police, a warrant was issued for the arrest of 26-year-old Bobby William Johnson, Jr., of North Charleston. Police say he is connected to the shooting on Woodlawn Avenue that happened on April 2. 

Police said the victim, identified as 22-year-old Daniel Patterson, was taken to Medical University Hospital where he died. 

During the investigation, police say witnesses told them Johnson and Patterson were arguing before Johnson pulled out a gun and shot Patterson. According to police, Johnson ran after the shooting. 

Johnson's bond was denied on the murder charge Tuesday morning. A judge levied a $50,000 bond for the the weapons charge.
