School bus with students hit by car; driver injured

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A school bus carrying students was involved in an accident Thursday morning.

According to Dorchester County Officials, a car hit a school bus near the area of Patriots Boulevard and Ashley Phosphate in North Charleston.

Pat Raynor, spokesperson for Dorchester County District Two, says the school bus was heading to Fort Dorchester High School and six high school students were on the bus at the time of the accident.

Raynor says there were no apparent injuries to any of the students but that EMS was on scene to check out everyone.

Officials say the bus driver did suffer an arm injury when it got stuck in the steering wheel as a result of the accident.
