NORTH CHALRESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- R.B. Stall High School was evacuated early Friday morning.

Students and staff were sent outside around 8 a.m. after someone noticed the smell of natural gas.

According to spokesperson with the Charleston County School District, Jason Sakran, SCE&G is on scene along with North Charleston Police, North Charleston Fire, and the CCSD Office of Security and Emergency Management.

Sakran said everyone was let back in around 10:30 a.m. but the source of the gas smell was still undetermined.

SCE&G officials later announced that a small leak was found near the meter of the school. That leak has been fixed.
