GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCIV) – An elderly disabled veteran told police he was attacked and robbed by two men armed with a handgun outside a Goose Creek gas station early Friday morning.

According to a police report, an officer arrived at the Sunoco on St. James Avenue and found the victim sitting in his car holding a blood-soaked towel to his head. There was blood on his car and on the ground leading from the store to his car, the report states.

The victim told the officer that two black men approached him, demanded his wallet and hit him in the head. The victim said he could not give a description of the two attackers.

The victim was taken to Trident Medical Center for treatment, the report states.

The clerk at the store said the victim had been sitting in his car outside the store for about two hours, and according to the report, she did not know of an assault until officers arrived.

The clerk told officers that she had only had 10 customers in the 30 minutes before police arrived and none of them seemed suspicious, the report states.

Police have not been able to gather a description of the men.
