Google Data Center evacuated

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCIV) -- Berkeley County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a threat made to the Google Data Center on Highway 52.

According to spokesperson Dan Moon, a bomb threat was made to the Google complex around 8:40 a.m. Thursday.

As of noon, police were still clearing buildings.  

Employees were evacuated while police complete their searches. So far, nothing has been found.

Moon said after each building is cleared, employees are allowed back in. 

He anticipates the operation will be done around 4 p.m. and the company will be able to resume normal operations.

No details were released regarding how the threat was discovered.
