SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- Berkeley County Schools officials kicked off construction of a brand new school Monday morning.

The Nexton community in Summerville is getting a new elementary school and the district held a ceremonial groundbreaking for the project.

The school will be built with money for the schools bond that was approved by voters in 2012.
