McGuire Memorial raises funds for many in need
PITTSBURGH, May 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- (mcguirememorial.org) McGuire Memorial, providing comprehensive services to children and adults with intellectual and physical disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum, launches its second annual Ramblin' Gamblin' Monte Carlo Night on Sunday, June 1, 2014.
As part of the 22nd Annual McGuire Memorial Celebrity Golf Classic, the Monte Carlo Night kicks-off the largest charity golf outing in the regions, which includes celebrity players such as former Pittsburgh Steelers Louis Lipps and Mike Merriweather. The McGuire Classic is slated for Monday, June 2nd.
Last year's Monte Carlo Night raised $43,000 for the McGuire mission, and the 2014 goal is $100,000. Dennis Sabatini, the Executive Director of the McGuire Memorial Foundation is confident the incredible community support shown will allow McGuire to exceed its financial goal for this year's event. Mr. Sabatini states, "Last year, we enjoyed a tremendous turnout for Monte Carlo Night, so much so, we began planning this year's event immediately afterwards. The sponsors and patrons are so very valued by McGuire and their engagement is priceless. We are thankful to everyone who has helped us make this evening a success."
The Monte Carlo Night features table games, plenty of food and entertainment. This year, the entertainment includes the band Casanova, a local favorite. Twenty-five table games such as three-card poker, blackjack, craps and roulette are among the many games of chance featured during the evening. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the event, setting the stage for The McGuire Celebrity Golf Classic the next day, June 2nd at Treesdale and Diamond Run golf courses.
Sister Mary Thaddeus Markelewicz, the President and CEO of McGuire Memorial says, "The funds generated from Monte Carlo Night directly impacts the delivery of our mission. Our supporters and sponsors make this a delightful, fun evening and at the same time help care for those who need it the most. We are grateful to our supporters, celebrities, sponsors and the community-at-large for helping each and every individual at McGuire achieve a 'fullness of life'."
Andrew Stockey, anchorman and sports director of WTAE-TV, Channel 4, is the master of ceremonies for Monte Carlo Night and will add panache to the festivities. Visits from the celebrities, and residents of McGuire Memorial will round out the evening and bring into focus the very important mission of McGuire Memorial.
The Ramblin' Gambin' Monte Carlo Night will begin at 6:00 pm at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott, 777 Aten Road, Coraopolis, PA 15108.
