Officials make drug bust at Georgetown boat landing

MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (WCIV) -- Two men are facing drug charges after police confiscated pills, pot, cash, and guns Friday.

Officers from the 15th Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit Georgetown Office, the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Murrells Inlet Boat Landing on Highway 17 Business.

Officials with the GCSO said 21-year-old Hunter Strickland is charged with possession with intent to distribute Oxycodone, Oxycontin, Alprazolam, and Xanax.

Another suspect, 23-year-old Michael Ford is charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, Xanax, Alprazolam, methamphetamine salts, and Oxycodone.

Agents report the seizure of several hundred pills, over 130 grams of high grade marijuana, packaging materials, two loaded handguns and a loaded assault rifle.
They said the estimated street value of the drugs seized is over $10,000.
