Family seeks answers in the case of man run over by driver

Posted: Updated:
TUSCALOOSA -AL -      The family of 52-year old Bruce Lee Moore are seeking answers after his body was found run over just after midnight early Wednesday morning.

Moore's uncle tells ABC 33/40 "He had family but figured didn't no one care for him.  He was just looking for someone to love him," said Frank Jordan.

Investigators say a driver called 911 around 12:40 am Wednesday morning and told police Moore was already lying in the road on 18th Street near T. Y. Rogers Avenue and he accidentally run over him.  "Its possible that he didn't see him at all.  It appears the victim was lying in the road and motionless prior to being ran over," said Lt. Kip Hart with Tuscaloosa Metro Homicide.

Police don't know whether Moore had been run over by someone else before the driver who called 911.  So, that drive hasn't been charged.

Moore's uncle admits his nephew had a drinking problem, but says Moore seemed fine the last time he saw him.  Jordan says Moore had just left his home a few hours before his body was discovered.  "He just sat down.  He was drinking something in a bag and I assumed it was wine by looking at the top.  After we watched TV, I said you want me to take you home 'Moody' [nickname].  He said no, I'll walk."

Police say they're waiting on toxicology reports to determine the exact cause of death and why Moore's body may have been in the condition it was.  Anyone who had contact with him late Tuesday night is asked to give authorities a call.
