UPDATE FROM Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office in Louisiana:
Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a Georgia man Thursday afternoon for outstanding warrants that ultimately unraveled a murder investigation, Sheriff Jerry Larpenter said.
Thursday afternoon, TPSO detectives responded to an anon...ymous tip that a subject wanted in connection with a murder in Georgia was possibly inside of an apartment at 130 Armour Drive.
Detectives responded to the area and came in contact with a subject identified as Teon Graham, 21, of Atlanta, Georgia. Atlanta authorities were contacted and it was noted that Graham was not being sought in connection with any murder investigation.
Additional investigation by TPSO detectives revealed a vehicle in Graham's possession that was wanted by the East Point Police Department in connection with a missing person complaint. TPSO detectives continued the investigation and uncovered physical evidence that appeared to be connected to suspicious activity by Graham. During an interview of Graham, he confessed to TPSO detectives that he did murder a subject in Atlanta, Georgia this past weekend. He further led detectives to the location of the dumped body in West Blockton, Alabama.
TPSO detectives contacted authorities in West Blockton, Alabama and led them to the location Graham reported. The body of a subject was found as Graham described.
Subsequently Atlanta Police Department homicide detectives were contacted and are continuing this investigation.
Graham was booked at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex on an outstanding warrant for felony theft from Alabama. Additional charges in connection with the homicide are expected soon from Atlanta authorities. Graham will be extradited to Alabama and then Georgia later this month.
The identity of the victim is being withheld at this time.
