Arrest made in James Island shooting

JAMES ISLAND, S.C. (WCIV) -- One person was injured early Wednesday morning in a shooting on James Island.

According to Charleston Police spokesman Charles Francis, the shooting happened on the 1400 block of Secessionville Road around 4 a.m. Wednesday.

A person was shot in the leg after an argument between the victim and the suspect, police said. The injury is not believed to be life-threatening.

Police arrested 27-year-old Michael McNeil Thursday. He is charged with assault and battery in the first degree and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
