JAMES ISLAND, S.C. (WCIV) -- Three days after a shooting claimed the life of the younger brother of a professional football player at a club on James Island, Charleston County deputies announced an arrest in the case.

According to Charleston County Assistant Sheriff Mitch Lucas, deputies arrested Darnell Claven LaFayette and charged him with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Lucas said LaFayette fired three shots; two hit 21-year-old Tyrone Moore.

He is being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center. A bond hearing has been set for Wednesday morning.

"He is the one who pulled the trigger," said Charleston County Assistant Sheriff Mitch Lucas.

However, Lucas added that there may be more arrests in the shooting death of Moore, the brother of Atlanta Falcon Roddy White. Moore died of a gunshot wound to his upper back outside a club on James Island.

Lucas said witnesses helped deputies put together the case against LaFayette, adding that deputies are still putting together their case and asked anyone with information about what led to the shooting call Crime Stoppers.

According to Charleston County deputies, the shooting happened shortly before 3 a.m. in front of the Lake House Club on Mosquito Beach Road. Deputies say there was a fight, shots were fired, and one man, Moore, was wounded.

Moore was taken to Medical University Hospital where he was pronounced dead, officials said.

Deputies recovered three .380 shell casings from the scene, just feet away from where Moore was found.

The Falcons owner and chairman Arthur Blank issued a statement Saturday evening extending condolences to the family on behalf of the organization.

“We were all saddened to learn about the death of Roddy’s brother Tyrone. Roddy is part of our Falcons family, and families stand together in difficult circumstances. Roddy and his family can count on our support through this very trying time. On behalf of the entire Falcons organization, we extend our deepest sympathies and prayers to Roddy, his mother Joenethia, and their entire family," he said.

On Sunday, family members confirmed that White was returning to James Island sometime Sunday, but did not have a definite time. Family members also said that White's agent would be handling comments to media until White made a statement next week.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office at 843-202-1700 or Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111.

Moore's funeral has been set for noon Thursday at the First Baptist Church on Camp Road. The viewing is a day earlier from 6-8 p.m. at Palmetto Mortuary.
