FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) - After a record-setting career at Clemson, Tajh Boyd realizes he has to get back to basics after being a sixth-round draft pick of the New York Jets.

Boyd set 57 school and Atlantic Coast Conference records, finishing with 11,904 yards passing and 107 touchdowns. He also ran for 26 scores as one of college football's most dynamic players.

But with the Jets, he'll compete for the No. 3 job with Matt Simms, while Geno Smith and Michael Vick battle to be the starter.

Boyd says Saturday after his second practice at rookie minicamp that it's kind of strange being "a small fish in a big pond again," but adds that the goal is to keep getting better so that he'll one day "emerge again as one of the bigger fish."
