Summerville police release surveillance photos of bank robbery suspect

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- A black man armed with a handgun robbed a Summerville bank Wednesday morning, and police released surveillance photos of the robbery a short time later.

According to Summerville police officials, a black man entered the BB&T located at 10105 Dorchester Road and robbed the bank. The suspect was described as a black male wearing all black clothing with a mask, heavy duty gloves and armed with a black handgun, police said.

Police estimate the man was 5-feet, 8-inches tall and weighed around 160 pounds.

In surveillance photos, the man can be seen pointing a gun a two tellers and taking cash.

After the robbery, police say he got into a gray 4-door sedan driven by a black woman.
