McMaster to report raising $225,400 for Lt. Gov.

Posted: Updated:

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Henry McMaster's campaign says he has nearly $103,000 cash available to spend on his campaign for lieutenant governor just 18 days before voters head to the polls.

Campaign manager Jeff Taillon says McMaster has raised more than $225,400 since March 31, and 90 percent of those donations came from South Carolinians.

The campaign plans to file McMaster's pre-election disclosure report later Friday. Fundraising continues.

State law requires candidates to file a report at least 15 days before an election. Taillon says they're filing early since that deadline falls on Memorial Day.

McMaster is among four Republicans seeking the state's No. 2 spot. Others in the June 10 primary are Mike Campbell, son of the late Gov. Carroll Campbell; retired Kiawah Island developer Pat McKinney and retired Army chaplain Ray Moore.
