Posted: Updated:

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Four people were taken to the emergency room at Medical University Hospital early Friday morning following a shooting on Rivers Avenue.

Department spokesman Spencer Pryor said shortly after 2 a.m. officers responded to MUSC after two gunshot victims admitted to the ER. The victims told investigators that they were at the Honey Bees Bar on Rivers Avenue and left in a car with two other subjects.

While on Rivers Avenue near Morningside Drive, the victims told police an unknown vehicle pulled up on the driver’s side and opened fire on the car.

According to a police report, officers found more than a dozen shell casings in the roadway near the reported shooting.

Two of the passengers inside the vehicle were struck by bullets and transported to MUSC.

The other two passengers were later located at different homes with wounds that may or may not have been the result of gunfire, Pryor said.

The police report states the car involved in the shooting was found on Piedmont Street with several bullet holes. The driver of the car had wounds to his shoulder and the top of his head, according to the report.

Those victims were also taken to MUSC for treatment.

North Charleston police are still investigating.
