Deputies make arrest in fatal Lincolnville shooting

LINCOLNVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- A North Charleston man was arrested this week on charges he shot and killed a Lincolnville man last month.

According to the Charleston County Sheriff's Office, Travis Michael Sellers was arrested for the murder of Ricardo Smith. Officials say deputies and U.S. Marshals found Sellers at a home off Redbank Road in Goose Creek.

Deputies said on May 24, officers were called to Big Ok Lane in Lincolnville to investigate a shootings. They found that Smith had been shot by an unknown black man.

Smith was taken to Trident Medical Center where he later died.

Deputies only had a generic description of the suspect, but during the investigation they said Sellers became a suspect. They did not give a motive for the shooting.

Sellers is being held at the Charleston County Detention Center on charges of murder an unlawful possession of a firearm. A bond hearing has been set for Friday evening.
