Berkeley County to break ground on senior center Monday

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCIV) -- Berkeley County officials will break ground Monday on the the county's senior center expansion project.

“The services and programs provided by Berkeley Seniors, Inc. are so important to our community. This expansion will enhance the existing facility which provides older adults a safe gathering place for lunch and daily activities by the caring staff of Berkeley Seniors,” said County Supervisor Dan Davis.

The groundbreaking will be held at the site of the existing senior center on Gulledge Street.

Berkeley Seniors is a private nonprofit that gets some of its funding from the county government, local groups, private individuals, and the state's Division of Senior Services.
